Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Atty on Tuesday inspected the consular task force managing the situation of Egyptian citizens in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon amid escalating military developments in the region.
Abdel-Atty reviewed the operations room and communication channels between embassies and consulates, directing that all available resources be used to provide comprehensive care and support, including assistance for Egyptians stranded abroad and facilitating their safe return home.
He also instructed diplomatic and consular missions to maintain 24/7 monitoring via direct hotlines, ensuring rapid responses to inquiries, addressing citizens’ needs, and providing necessary consular services.
During the inspection, Abdel-Atty was briefed on the task force’s daily operations, including handling over 2,000 inquiries per day through the central hotline, alongside immediate responses to questions received at Egyptian missions overseas.
