Egypt plans significant public sector pay raises – PM
Egypt plans substantial salary increases for public sector employees, with a focus on teachers and healthcare workers, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Sunday.
The announcement follows directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to include above-standard pay adjustments in the 2026/2027 fiscal year budget, which will be presented during Ramadan.
Madbouly said the government aims to ensure the raises are meaningful and reasonable, taking into account recent economic reforms, and will prioritise sectors considered critical for public services.
