Egypt PM, FM strategise on boosting cooperation with Africa
In alignment with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to deepen cooperation with African nations, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met on Sunday with Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Aty to review ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering stronger ties with Africa.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Madbouly highlighted Egypt’s historic and strategic relationship with its African neighbours, reaffirming the country’s dedication to promoting development, peace, and prosperity across the continent. He emphasised Egypt’s readiness to support sustainable development projects that meet the aspirations of African peoples.
Minister Abdel-Aty outlined the Foreign Ministry’s active role in implementing presidential mandates to enhance bilateral relations. He praised the efforts of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, which plays a key role in advancing African growth through training programs, capacity building, and the transfer of expertise.
The foreign minister also stressed Egypt’s focus on boosting trade and investment with African countries, leveraging its membership in the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and regional blocs to open new economic opportunities.
The discussion underscored the pivotal role of Egyptian diplomacy in advancing the nation’s interests in Africa, with coordination between state institutions and clear direction from President El-Sisi. These efforts aim to position Egypt as a driving force for development and integration across the continent.
