“Egypt Post” Increases Nature-Of-Work Allowance and Cancels Sat-Vacation

Board of the General Authority of “Egypt Post” has decided within its meeting –chaired by Mossad Abd El Ghany the President of Authority- to cancel Saturday’s weekly vacation in all post offices, and resume operating on Saturdays by the beginning of next May, as this decision was a response to citizens’ requests, as Nasr Abd El Hameed – President of Post General Union- stated.

Nasr Abd el hameed added that the authority decided also to increase the Nature-Of-Work allowance by 100%, to become 130%, 140%, and 150% of the monthly salary of all workers, as this increase will impose a total cost of about 400 million EGP annually, and 55,000 workers will benefit from it.

He added that the authority also agreed on executing the cabinet’s decisions, regarding the application of employment failure on workers, as well as transferring about 6000 temporary employees to become permanent in various positions, in order to maintain social stability for them and their families.

He also declared the formation of a committee of post authority and the union, which aims at studying the chance of increasing the “End of Service Award”, as this increase will be financed from loyalty fund that is currently estimated of the payment of 100 months’ salary, in case of retirement.
