Egypt Premier League new season to start in Sept. with fans attendance
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced Saturday that the 2019-2020 season of the Egyptian Premier League will start on 19 September after playing the Super Cup game.
“Fans attendance in the Egyptian Premier League games will be with a percentage according to the stadiums capacity,” EFA Competitions Committee Amer Hussien told a press conference on Saturday.
“We will work with a system similar to Tazkarti (The ticket marketplace) that was used in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations,” he added.
“It’s difficult to use the VAR system in the coming edition of the Egyptian Premier League due to its high coast,” Hussien said.
Egyptian Premier league champions Ahly Ahly kick off their title-defending bid against runners-up Ismaily, while Zamalek will face Petrojet on the opening day.
Cairo arch-rivals Ahly and Zamalek are due to face-off at the end of the first and second rounds, but the dates of both confrontations have not yet been set.
