Egypt will participate today in “Connect Arab” summit, which discusses several initiatives to activate the role of the telecommunications sector in fighting poverty and to secure children using the Internet, besides participating in the “Digital Content” initiative for the Arab States that is hosted by the Qatari capital “Doha” from the 5th to the 7th of March.
Connect Arab summit -The Egyptian delegation in the summit is headed by Dr. Mohammed Salim the Minister of Communications, who deliver a speech on behalf of Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi teh Chairman of SCAF- aims at bringing the owners of the common interests together to activate the role of communications and information technology sector in fighting poverty and creating employment opportunities for Arab youth, as well as using modern technologies to support the economies of the region, and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development, beside improving the standard of living of Arab citizens in general.
It is scheduled that Egypt will present a number of initiatives that represent a practical framework for cooperation between Arab countries and an activation of Arab cooperative work in the field of communications and information technology during the next phase, and these initiatives are: the initiative of digital content for the Arab States, the initiative of the security of children on the Internet, the project of Arab world memory, and the electronic gate project for indicators as Almasry Alyoum stated.
