Egypt Presidency Declares State of Emergency amid Deadly Violence

Egypt’s presidency has declared a state of emergency in Egypt, to last for one month. The president ordered the army to take all necessary measures to preserve security.

The announcement made on state TV followed countrywide clashes between supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsi and the security forces.
