Egypt primary surplus at EGP 14 billion in H1 FY20/21

Egypt registered a primary budget surplus of 0.2 percent of GDP, amounting to around 14 billion Egyptian pounds ($887.8 million) during the first half of 2020/2021 financial year, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said on Thursday.

The overall budget deficit in the first half of 2020/2021 fell to 3.6 percent from 4.1 percent from the same period last year, Maait added in a ministry statement.
