Egypt’s Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly stated that the country is keen to strengthen collaboration with Chevron, a global energy corporation, in order to restore previous oil and gas production rates, as per a Cabinet statement on Monday.
Madbouly made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from Chevron, led by Frank Cassulo, vice president of international exploration and production at Chevron.
During the discussions, Frank Cassulo highlighted Chevron’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Egypt, describing the country as a strategic ally, according to the statement.
Christian Svenningsen, Chevron Egypt regional director, provided an overview of Chevron’s efforts in oil exploration in various offshore sites in the Mediterranean Sea and its initiatives to develop existing production fields to boost output.
Meanwhile, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy, praised Chevron’s efforts to increase production, expressing hope for continued collaboration to carry out further exploration, which would contribute to Egypt’s oil and gas production.
