Egypt had injected around 100 billion Egyptian pounds ($5.6 billion) to date on the low-income citizens’ residential units within the framework of the social housing project.
Egypt provides residential units for slums dwellers, at a total cost of 20 billion pounds, the housing ministry’s spokesperson Hani Younis told AlHayah TV Network in a telephone call.
Meanwhile, projects for medium-income earners, including Dar Misr and Sakan Misr totalled 50 billion pounds, Younis highlighted.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian government had enabled the reservation of 18,590 units in 12 governorates as of Sunday, 12 August, until Wednesday, 5 September.
