Egypt pumps EGP 100bn investments in educational sector in 6 years

Egypt has  pumped 100 billion Egyptian pounds investments into the educational sector during the last six years, according to the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly.

This announcement was made during the inauguration of a number of educational projects in Alexandria, which was attended by the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Madbouly said that Egypt has spent around 7.6 billion pounds for the development of the educational sector in 2014-2015.

The prime minister confirmed that the country needs 40 billion pounds to create 73,000 new classes to solve the overcrowding issue in public schools.

As part of the education development strategy, Egypt seeks to establish eight modern technological universities, 10 public and private universities, and 100 new colleges.

Madbouly further remarked that Egypt succeeded in building the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology to improve the quality of education.
