Egypt pushes forward medical tourism initiative

Egypt’s Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed developments in the country’s medical tourism sector, focusing on work standards and the delivery of high-quality services to attract health investments, the Ministry said on Tuesday.

Abdel Ghaffar emphasised that the project supports Egypt’s Vision 2030 to position the country as a regional hub for medical tourism, leveraging its geographic location and skilled workforce.

The meeting covered project requirements, the launch of a medical tourism platform, the technical secretariat’s structure, budgets, and a national strategy to extend services across all governorates based on the health map.

The minister emphasised collaboration with partner entities to develop the medical tourism industry through innovative approaches, aiming to enhance Egypt’s healthcare leadership and utilise its diverse tourism resources.
