Egypt, Qatar FMs discuss Gaza ceasefire, reconstruction

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty discussed with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Wednesday the latest developments in Gaza and joint efforts to stabilise the ceasefire agreement and ensure the implementation of its three phases.

The two ministers also explored ways to coordinate positions in promoting the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and Gaza reconstruction, alongside efforts to mobilise support for the initiative. They further discussed preparations for the Cairo international conference on Gaza reconstruction.

Abdel Aty and Al Thani agreed on the need for continued coordination to contain escalating regional tensions and work towards a political settlement that ensures lasting stability through the establishment of a Palestinian state as a final resolution to the conflict.
