Egypt, Qatar reaffirm economic partnership, back Gaza ceasefire

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly held talks on Tuesday with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Doha on his return from the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Madbouly expressed Egypt’s interest in boosting joint investments in key sectors of the Egyptian economy, particularly tourism. He reaffirmed Cairo’s commitment to offering incentives and facilitation for Qatari investors.

The two leaders also discussed joint efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, underscoring their shared commitment to ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and supporting their legitimate rights.
