Egypt ready to lead Sudan’s reconstruction efforts – PM
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has reaffirmed on Tuesday Egypt’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s reconstruction efforts, offering Egyptian expertise and resources to help the country recover from its ongoing crisis.
Speaking during a meeting with Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Youssef Al-Sharif at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasised Egypt’s readiness to contribute to rebuilding Sudan’s infrastructure and stabilizing its institutions.
The discussions, attended by Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel-Atty, focused on strengthening bilateral ties, addressing Sudan’s humanitarian needs, and coordinating reconstruction projects. Egypt has already provided extensive humanitarian aid to Sudan through the Egyptian Red Crescent, said Prime Minister Madbouly, assuring that the country remains committed to standing by its neighbour during this critical period.
For his part, Minister Al-Sharif welcomed Egypt’s offer, announcing that a major Egyptian company has already been selected to implement the first reconstruction project. He also invited Egyptian officials to visit Sudan for further coordination on rebuilding initiatives.
Highlighting the longstanding ties between the two nations, Prime Minister Madbouly stressed that Egypt and Sudan share a deep-rooted bond, likening their relationship to “one body” united by history and mutual support. He reiterated that Egypt is prepared to assist Sudan in achieving early recovery, improving living conditions, and restoring stability as soon as possible.
