Egypt reaffirms rejection of displacement of Palestinians from Gaza
Egypt reaffirmed its rejection of any displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesperson for FM, said on Tuesday.
Abu Zeid stressed on the country’s rejection of the displacement whether voluntarily or by force.
The statement comes as a response to comments made by Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, encouraging Palestinians to leave Gaza.
Abu Zeid emphasised that the Israeli attacks indicate their intention to forcibly displacing Palestinians from their lands.
He also highlighted that the Israeli actions in Gaza are a blatant breach of international law and humanitarian law, stressing on Israel’s obligations as an occupying power under Article 49 of the Geneva Conventions.
Abu Zeid urged Israel to stop the attack and the targeting of Palestinian civilians immediately.
He also called for the establishment of humanitarian conditions to ensure safety and stable habitation of Palestinians.
