Egypt reaffirms support for Yemen’s unity, stability
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Yemen’s unity, institutions, independence, and territorial integrity. He stressed the importance of Yemen’s stability for regional and Red Sea security.
During his meeting on Monday with Yemeni Foreign Minister Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani, Abdel Aty expressed Egypt’s backing for efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis. He emphasised the need to fulfil the aspirations of the Yemeni people and end their humanitarian suffering.
Abdel Aty highlighted Egypt’s support for Yemen, particularly in providing medical and food aid. He noted that Egypt hosts large numbers of Yemenis and offers them essential services and facilities.
The talks also covered preparations for the Arab League Summit in Cairo on March 4, focusing on Gaza. Abdel Aty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to sustain the ceasefire, advance reconstruction plans, and oppose the displacement of Palestinians. He reiterated the need for a just and lasting political solution to the Palestinian issue.
