Egypt receives 261,600 doses of J&J COVID vaccine – minister
Egypt has received early Monday a first batch of 261,600 doses of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine through the African Union, Health Minister Hala Zayed announced in a statement.
The shots will be distributed among the country’s 126 vaccination centres dedicated to travellers, where individuals can also get QR code-bearing vaccination certificates.
The North African country is expecting to receive more J&J batches in the near future, Minister Zayed noted, without disclosing a timeframe.
The African Union is providing Egypt with 25 million doses of the single-shot vaccine.
