Egypt’s Safaga Port has received on Saturday 63,000 tons of Russian wheat aboard the dry cargo ship PAREA, according to the Red Sea Port Authority (RSPA) media centre.
The Russian Grain Union declared that the country has exported about 5.9 million tons of grain throughout the second half of 2022.
Earlier this month, Russian Embassy in Cairo said the country remained Egypt’s main wheat exporter during the second half of 2022, as Egypt is the second biggest importer of Russian wheat.
Egypt has continued to import wheat from Russia and Ukraine, which provided 80 percent of Egypt’s wheat before the war between the two countries broke out in February last year.
