Egypt receives LNG shipments

Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) received the liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments contracted to meet the fuel needs of power plants and to halt the energy consumption rationing plan in the third week of July. Of the 21 shipments, five have already arrived, amounting to approximately 155,000 cubic meters of LNG.

According to the report, the shipments were unloaded onto regasification vessels currently stationed at Sumed Port in Ain Sokhna and Port of Aqaba.

EGAS further confirmed that the remaining contracted shipments will arrive according to the agreed schedule, ensuring a steady supply of fuel for the country’s power plants. This move is part of a broader effort to prevent energy shortages and stabilise the national power grid during peak demand periods.
