Egypt reports 1226 new coronavirus cases, 56 deaths on Sunday

Egypt reported 1226 new coronavirus cases on Sunday bringing the total infection tally to 132,541 since the outbreak began in February.

This is the fourth consecutive day for the country’s health ministry to register daily infections toll more than 1000 daily cases.

This is also the highest daily infection toll in almost five months.

The health ministry also reported 53 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 7405.

The statement said that 553 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 110,015.
