Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development released the second progress report on the NWFE platform, outlining advancements in climate-focused projects across the water, food, energy, and sustainable transport sectors.
The report was unveiled at a high-level event attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, ministers, and development partners, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Thursday.
The report focused on food security projects, with initiatives such as the CROWN project for climate-resilient water management in the Nile Valley and the CRAFT programme, which promotes modern irrigation and early warning systems with World Bank support.
In the North Delta, the EU and European Investment Bank have allocated a total of €425,000 to study the impact of rising sea levels on agriculture.
The project highlighted a major partnership with the UK, aiming to strengthen Egypt’s food security through a pilot programme for sustainable wheat production and agricultural innovation.
