Egypt Restores Samples of Stolen Pieces from Cheops Pyramid

The Egyptian embassy in Berlin has received Friday the samples of King Khufu’s (Cheops) cartouche that were stolen a year ago by two German researchers, Antiquities Minister Mamdouh El-Damaty.

Damaty thanked the German government for cooperation with Egypt to restore the stolen samples, which are subject to the Ancient Monuments Protection Law of 1983.

The Minister also thanked the Egyptian embassy’s staffers for their efforts in this file. Efforts are underway to bring the culprits to trial under the international law, the minister said.
