Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny held a meeting with the ministry’s top officials to review progress on the tourist promenade projects in 6th of October City, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
The meeting focused on developing tourist promenades in new cities, including bicycle lanes and areas for sports, social, and commercial activities to optimise land use, improve urban aesthetics, and create community spaces.
Mohamed Mostafa, head of the 6th of October Authority, presented updates on existing promenades that feature shopping malls, retail outlets, restaurants, green areas, and public seating. He also reviewed progress on other promenades under construction.
El-Sherbiny stressed the need to prevent encroachments on roads, disrupting traffic and pedestrian activities, while ensuring compliance with project regulations, according to the statement.
