Egypt-Russia two-plus-two meetings to start Monday – ministry
The periodically held Egyptian-Russian two-plus-two dialogue mechanism, which involves the foreign and defence ministers of the two countries, is set to kick off on Monday in Moscow, a statement by Egypt’s foreign ministry said.
The Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on bilateral ties in the political, economic, and cultural fields.
“This will reflect the depth and strength of the special relationship between the two countries and the importance which both sides attach to continue working on boosting and developing bilateral ties at all levels,” the statement read.
The talks will also see consultations over important regional and international issues of bilateral interest.
Montday’s two-plus-two dialogue meeting is the fifth in the mechanism held between the two countries since 2013.
