Egypt, Saudi Arabia sign landmark customs deal to boost trade ties

Saudi Arabia’s Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and Egypt’s Customs Authority signed on Wednesday a landmark agreement to mutually recognise their Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programmes.

The agreement, aimed at facilitating smoother trade exchanges between the two nations, was said during the opening of the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Conference in Riyadh.

The deal is designed to streamline the flow of goods across borders and boost supply chain efficiency, offering reciprocal benefits to the private sectors in both countries.

By mutually recognising their AEO programmes, Saudi Arabia and Egypt aim to create a more efficient and secure trade environment for businesses in both countries.
