Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has signed a contract to import 50,000 tons of crude sunflower oil, extending the country’s strategic stock of supply cooking oil to cover 7.5 months, as per a cabinet statement on Wednesday.
This move aligns with government directives to enhance the nation’s reserves of essential commodities and is part of broader efforts to strengthen food security and stabilise market conditions amid global economic fluctuations.
