Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with US Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg to discuss cooperation and attracting American investments in the sector, as per a Cabinet statement.
Talaat highlighted the strong partnership between Egypt and the US in the ICT sector, citing the significant presence of American companies in the Egyptian market and the continuous growth in their numbers. He expressed his desire to attract further US investments in line with Egypt’s Digital Strategy.
For her part, Ambassador Garg emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation in ICT as a means to deepen bilateral relations, in light of the US administration’s commitment to strengthening ties with Egypt. She also commended the rapid development of Egypt’s ICT sector.
The meeting focused on the ministry’s efforts in digital capacity building and entrepreneurship support, with the ambassador welcoming increased collaboration in this area. It also covered the second edition of Egypt’s National AI Strategy and ongoing cooperation with the private sector in developing AI-based applications.
