Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Tuesday with Ayman Mukhtar, Regional President of Viatris, to explore opportunities for expanding pharmaceutical investments and localising production, according to a Cabinet statement.
The Ministry’s official spokesperson highlighted that the discussions focused on advancing the pharmaceutical industry, improving access to essential medicines, and aligning efforts with Egypt’s sustainable development goals.
Key topics included collaboration on capacity-building initiatives for healthcare professionals and strengthening the country’s healthcare infrastructure. The two sides also deliberated on expanding national health initiatives to ensure broader access to quality healthcare services across Egypt.
Additionally, the meeting emphasised the importance of innovative health awareness campaigns aimed at educating all segments of society and fostering a culture of proactive health management, the statement added.
