Egypt sees 748 new coronavirus cases, 52 deaths on Friday

Egypt reported 748 new coronavirus cases and 52 deaths on Friday, the country’s health ministry said in a statement.

The total infection tally reached 160,463, while the death toll hit 8,853 since the outbreak began domestically in mid-February.

The statement added that 432 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 125,603.

Egypt’s daily coronavirus infection tolls, registered by the health ministry, have been on the decline since 9 January.
