Egypt sees EGP 650m agricultural revenues in 2024

Egypt’s General Authority for Agrarian Reform reported revenues exceeding 650 million Egyptian pounds during the second half of 2024, according to a Cabinet statement on Monday.

In Beheira governorate, public auctions for leased land generated over 5.2 million pounds, with annual rental bids ranging from 41,000 pounds to over 97,000 pounds per feddan, averaging 58,000 pounds—an annual increase of 10 per cent, said Hassan Fauli, Executive Director of the authority.

Fauli also revealed during a meeting with Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk that public auctions for agricultural and building land in Beheira yielded more than 22 million pounds in October 2024. Total annual revenues surpassed 27.3 million pounds, contributing significantly to the state treasury.
