Egypt sent five military planes with urgent medical aid to Syria and Türkiye, under the directives President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, after he made two phone calls to his counterparts in both countries on Tuesday.
al-Sisi expressed his sincere condolences over the lost lives, and wished quick recovery for those injured in the devastating earthquake, which took place on the sixth of February, according to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
On his side, the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad expressed his gratitude to the warm gesture from his Egyptian counterpart; emphasizing Syria taking pride in the historic brotherhood the two countries share.
While, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered his thanks to al-Sisi on his feelings and initiative; mentioning that it proves the deep historical ties between the peoples of the two countries.
