Egypt to welcome over 15m tourists this year despite regional challenges – PM

Egypt is on track to exceed 15 million tourist arrivals this year, overcoming regional challenges that have impacted tourism across the Middle East, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference, Prime Minister Madbouly attributed the milestone to the country’s robust efforts to bolster its tourism sector. “By the grace of God, Egypt will surpass 15 million tourists this year,” he said. “We are progressing well in this sector, and next year’s numbers are set to be even better, God willing.”

The prime minister highlighted ongoing initiatives to expand hotel capacity and enhance the overall visitor experience. “We are working intensively to increase the number of hotel rooms and improve the experience for tourists in Egypt. We have clear targets for next year regarding both hotel expansion and tourist arrivals,” he added.

Madbouly emphasised that, despite regional crises and global challenges, Egypt’s tourism industry remains resilient and well-positioned for growth in the coming year.
