Egypt’s bourse ended sessions on Wednesday with gains totaled 3.6 Egyptian pounds amid foreign buying appetite. Therefore, the country’s main bourse index ended above 7570 points.
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices were wavering in green notes on Wednesday afternoon.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 ended 0.97 per cent higher to 7571.35 pts; while EGX20 finished 0.84 per cent up to 8990.69 pts.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged by 1.59% to close at 633.85 pts. The price index EGX100 inched up by 1.48 per cent to conclude at 1079.17 pts.
Furthermore, the market capitalization recorded EGP 468.710 billion on Wednesday.
Turnovers
Through the closing session of Wednesday, the trading volume has reached 209.147 million securities, with turnovers worth EGP 914.442 million, exchanged through 37.603 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 191 listed securities have been traded in; 54 declined, 122 advanced; while 15 keeping their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
The non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers capturing 9.9% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 4.440 million, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers seizing 85.45% and 4.65% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.276 million and 164.422 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.
Companies’ Activities
At the EGX30, Cairo-based investment bank EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) saw its share price decline by 0.62 percent to EGP 11.29.
Market bellwether Commercial International Bank S.A.E. (COMI.CA) climbed 1.88 percent to EGP 34.10.
In the real estate sector, Palm Hills Development Company (PHDC.CA) tumbled by 1.87 percent to trade at EGP 3.14, Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMGH.CA) increased by 0.69 percent to trade at EGP 7.30, and Sixth of October Development and Investment Co S.A.E – SODIC (OCDI.CA) rose 0.51 percent to close at EGP 23.75.
