Egypt shifts 6th of October Victory holiday to Oct. 9 for public sector

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Monday declared Thursday, Oct. 9, a paid public holiday to mark the 6th of October Victory (Armed Forces Day), moving the observance from its official date on Oct. 6.

According to the decree published in the Official Gazette, the holiday will apply to employees in ministries, government agencies, local administration units, and companies in the public and state-owned business sectors.
