Egypt shortens quarantine period for returning nationals from 14 to 7 days
Egypt will shorten the quarantine period for stranded nationals returning from 14 days to 7 days.
Those who test negative for coronavirus will only have to stay at hotels for seven days and then self-isolate at home for seven more days, while cases that test positive will be transferred to a quarantine hospital.
In April, Cabinet Spokesperson Nader Saad said that Egyptian expatriates wishing to return must sign an avowal stating that upon arrival back to the country they would be quarantined in a place determined by the Health Ministry for 14 days. Those who refuse to sign the avowal will be barred from boarding a flight back to Egypt.
