Egypt signs EGP 840m deal to build electricity control centre in new capital
State-run Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed on Tuesday an agreement with a consortium comprised of Siemens AG, Siemens Egypt, and Hassan Allam to construct an electricity control centre in the country’s new administrative capital.
The investment cost of the project, which amounts to 840 million Egyptian pounds ($53.5 million), will be financed from the EETC’s own resources, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Resources.
The project will be implemented on a turnkey basis over a 24-month period starting from the date of signing the deal.
