Cairo signs protocol to develop more slums through EU-led grant

Cairo governorate has signed Thursday a cooperation protocol with the state Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises Development Agency to develop more slums through a financial assistance given by the French Development Agency (AFD).

The slums to undergo the development process are in El Zawya El Hamra and Ezbet Khairallah districts, at cost of around 120 million Egyptian pounds ($6.7 million).

The protocol aims to put an end to unsafe slums and to provide housing units for the their dwellers .
