Egypt signs training deal for local govt employees

Egypt’s Ministry of Local Development has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Council for Training and Education to enhance training methodologies at the Sakara Centre, according to a Cabinet statement on Monday.

Local Development Minister Manal Awad, who witnessed the signing, emphasised that the partnership aims to revamp the centre’s strategic vision and strengthen collaboration with local and international training institutions. The agreement seeks to improve training and rehabilitation programmes for local government employees, ultimately boosting institutional performance.

As part of the agreement, joint training programmes will be launched to enhance government efficiency, and the ministry will work toward obtaining ISO 37000:2021 certification. Additionally, structured training packages and evaluation forms will be developed to ensure a systematic approach to learning.

The collaboration also focuses on establishing internationally recognised accreditation standards for trainers, refining methods for assessing training outcomes, and linking them to job performance. Moreover, accredited training packages will be introduced across multiple sectors, while national training programmes will be made more accessible to local government employees at reduced rates.
