Egypt’s Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El-Khatib met Spain’s Ambassador to Cairo Alvaro Iranzo on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen economic partnership and boost bilateral investments, the Cabinet said in a statement.
Talks focused on preparations for the Egypt–Spain Business Forum, scheduled in Cairo later this month, which will bring together major companies from both countries across multiple sectors.
Minister El-Khatib highlighted government efforts to create a more attractive investment climate and expand cooperation with Spanish firms, aligning with the two nations’ sustainable development goals. Iranzo praised Cairo’s progress in advancing the partnership and said Spain was keen to broaden collaboration.
The meeting reviewed the outcomes of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Spain in February, which elevated ties to a strategic partnership and led to agreements in industry, trade, energy and tourism. Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination to expand investment and economic cooperation.
