Egypt started a $1.8 billion programme for gas exploration wells in the Nile Delta and Mediterranean Sea, said petroleum minister Tarek El Molla on Tuesday.
The exploration programme is in cooperation with Shell, ExxonMobil, BP, Chevron, and Eni.
It aims to drill 35 exploration wells in two years in the current fiscal year 2023-2024, and 14 wells in the next year, said El Molla.
