Egypt targets $30 billion from tourism sector’s revenues next three years – PM
Egypt aims to increase the revenues of the tourism sector to $30 billion annually during the next three years as it will greatly support the economy, according to statements by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday. The currently revenues average estimated between $11 to $12 billion annually, the statement added.
This came during Madbouly’s visit to Sharm El Sheikh city to follow the ongoing preparations for the 27th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) next November.
The projects being implemented in Sharm El Sheikh for the summit’s preparation consider a real opportunity to increase the number of tourists coming to the city, Madbouly said.
Madbouly expressed his keen to hold periodic meetings with investors working in the tourism sector in order to listen to their perceptions about the advancement of the sector.
This will be in parallel with its coordination with the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities and Aviation to discuss ways to increase the rates of incoming tourism to the country.
Moreover, Madbouly also directed to deal with the problem of hotels whose implementation has been completed for several years, and take serious steps to start operating them.
