Egypt targets modern electrical rail network ‘with no pollution or congestion’ – minister
Egypt is set to have a modern, developed, and safe electrical rail network with no pollution or congestion, said Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir in a phone interview with Al Hekaya show on MBC Masr channel on Monday
The new light rail transit (LRT) system will be transport nearly 500,000 passengers daily from Adly Mansour station to the New Administrative Capital, the minsiter added.
“The ministry has 22 trains that are being tested on the electric light rail line from Adly Mansour station to the New Administrative Capital. In June, trains will be tested while carrying passengers.” he highlighted.
The minister stated the trial operation of the New Administrative Capital monorail will be performed in November, as it is expected to be ready for use in April 2023.
