Egypt energy: Renewable energy expansion to prevent summer power shortages
The Ministries of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Petroleum and Mineral Resources, are cooperating to put plans to prevent power outages during the summer months, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday.
The plans involve boosting renewable energy production by 4.5 gigawatts by next summer and increasing domestic oil and gas output through partnerships with international companies, Prime Minister Madbouly told a press conference. Efforts are underway to implement an approved plan to ensure a stable power supply.
