Sheikh Zayed City Development Authority plans to launch power plant with investments worth 200 million Egyptian pounds (US$25.5 million) and capacity of 500MW, Gamal Talaat -authority’s head- stated Wednesday.
Talaat told Amwal Al Ghad that the plant is set to be implemented upon two phases; 250MW for each phase, and the first one is set to start before the end of 2016. The plant is set to be established on the space of 15,000 square meters over two years.
The authority has finished creating plant’s designs and allocating its financial volume to start execution works, the official added, noting that the authority has not choose project’s implementer yet.
Talaat said that the authority is currently comparing between the Armed Forces and the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) according to several factors while the Armed Forces is close to be chosen to execute the project.
