Egypt to complete Sokhna- El-Alamein high speed train in two years
Egypt’s ministry of transportation will be executing the Ain Sokhna to Alamein high-speed electric rail within 24 months including 17 stations.
The ministry of transportation intends to assign the project management to an international company.
The project is with total cost of $9 billion covering 543 kilometers at a speed of 250 kilometers and will also pass through the cities of the New Administrative Capital, Sixth of October, Burj al-Arab and Alexandria, making it the first electric railway in Egypt since 1854.
The first phase will begin from the international sports city in the Administrative Capital to Borg el-Arab city in Alexandria, with a length of 260 km, passing through New Cairo and 6 of October city.
