Egypt’s Finance Ministry said on Wednesday that arrears owed to state employees for March will be paid starting 7 April, taking into account upcoming Christian holidays.
The ministry added that salaries for April and May 2026 will be paid from the 19th of each month, in a move aimed at facilitating payments for public sector employees.
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the ministry had coordinated with accounting units across state administrative bodies to advance the payment of March arrears and bring forward salary disbursements for the coming months.
State employees will be able to access their dues through automated teller machines from the announced dates, according to a Cabinet statement. Funds will remain available for withdrawal at any time thereafter.
