Egypt to establish air route to Congo’s Kinshasa – minister
Egypt is setting up a new air route to Democratic Republic of Congo’s capital Kinshasa within March next year, Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar announced on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Builders of Egypt Forum taking place in Cairo, Minister Manar said the new route is part of Egypt’s efforts to boost its air traffic with countries in East Africa.
“Africa is our (Ministry of Civil Aviation) top priority,” the minister revealed, referring to plans to establish a new joint venture airline with Ghana, in which EgyptAir would get a 75 percent stake.
Egyptian airline, Air Cairo is also planning to launch a new joint venture with a South Sudanese major airline, Manar added.
