Egypt to launch same-day shipping service using intercity buses

Egypt’s Transport Ministry announced on Thursday a new partnership between state-affiliated bus operator Super Jet and logistics company Bosta to offer same-day shipment delivery between governorates.

Minister Kamel El-Wazir said the new partnership reflects the government’s efforts to maximise the use of transport assets and develop new models in collaboration with the private sector. “Integration between transportation and logistics is essential to supporting economic growth and facilitating trade across Egypt,” he said.

Under the plan, shipments will be collected at selected Super Jet stations, labelled and registered by Bosta staff, and transported between governorates by Super Jet buses. At the destination, Bosta will manage final delivery. El-Wazir said the service could eventually handle up to six million shipments annually, supporting faster trade and boosting e-commerce.

Super Jet CEO Hassan El-Leithy said the project expands the company’s network beyond passenger transport, initially focusing on high-demand routes with plans to extend to additional cities. Bosta CEO Mohamed Ezzat said the collaboration will deliver faster, lower-cost intercity shipping, helping businesses and consumers across Egypt access more efficient logistics solutions.
