13 Egyptian ready-made garment companies will participate in the MAGIC Las Vegas Exhibition scheduled for February 20-23, 2017, Egypt’s Ready Made Garments Export Council (RMGEC) announced in a statement on Monday.
MAGIC Las Vegas is the world’s largest fashion marketplace, comprised of 15 unique communities showcasing the latest in apparel, and accessories. Every February and August, the retail industry convenes in Las Vegas.
Sherin Hosni, executive director at RMGEC, said that the council cooperates with General Organisation for International Exhibitions and Fairs to partake in the event through a pavilion covering 15 square metres.
Hosni added that the U.S. MAGIC is a good opportunity for Egyptian exporters to get to know other products and fashion traits, and to keep pace with the global trading market.
RMGEC’s strategy is focused on increasing the country’s exports to the U.S. market, which topped the list of Egypt’s ready-made garment importers, and on making the best use of Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZ) agreement, Hosni explained.
Hosni further stated that the Egyptian exports to the U.S. markets registered $470 million during the first nine months of 2016, from RMGEC’s total exports of $922 million.
